How I Lost 7 lbs in 14 Days

Aside from writing blogs, and binge-watching re-runs of my favorite shows, I occasionally dive into the realms of bi-monthly detoxes and 2 hour runs throughout my neighborhood. In my latest efforts to shed some water weight and reprogram my fitness habits, I successfully lost seven pounds in the last two weeks, while still dining out, attending family barbecues, and having a cheat meal at least once a week. And I am pleased to say that I continue to lose some pounds four weeks post detox.

How did I do it you may ask? With the help of a few drugstore products, water, and a semi-strict diet, I was able to achieve my goal of looking and feeling lighter all summer long by being consistent, disciplining myself, and getting off my ass to lose the extra weight.

What Did You Do?

In the past, I’ve tried a handful of products that promised a slimmer waistline with little to no effort. At first, these products gave instant results and heightened confidence, but the number that I saw on the scale only lasted a few days. I quickly realized that many of these “get fit quick” schemes only eliminated water weight and not the additional cause of me gaining fat.

When the liver is overwhelmed, and fat-soluble toxins accumulate into fat, they generate more fat, this, in turn, creates an unnecessary backup in colon processes and digestive system which is when a proper detox is needed to get rid of the access impurities. The detox solution that I decided to try this go-round is Applied Nutrition Acai Berry + Fat Burn 14 day Cleanse, which can be purchased in retail shops (CVS, Walgreens, Walmart) and online.

These medium sized pills are formulated to cleanse your digestive tract and get rid of any excessive adipose tissue that could be clogging your system, this 14-day detox allowed me to continue my daily routine without frequent trips to the restroom. Along with the acai berry and fat burner, I also conduct some background research on how to properly nourish my body during detox mode.

Things to Consider While on a Detox

Before you go running to your nearest drugstore, it is important to consider the reasons as to why you want to go on a detox. For me, bloating, restlessness, and low energy is a constant battle, combined with high intakes of carbs. Instead of quitting cold turkey, this particular detox gradually shifted my carvings and boosted my energy levels throughout the 14 days.

If you are looking to lose weight without putting in the work, then this method is not for you. This is not a supplement that you take each day and continue to eat whatever you want. Anything is good in moderation, but if you are unaware of those bad habits and continue them then that’s where the trouble begins.

Keep in mind that everyone’s body is different and require various amounts of work depending on body type, height, genetics. Being someone who has always been in relatively good shape for the majority of my life, I believe that the Applied Nutrition Acai Berry + Fat Burn 14 day Cleanse was easier for me to use because of my already established healthy lifestyle.

I did have to change the portions of food that I was eating and I definitely had to get my butt back in the gym, but don’t go starting a gym membership just yet.

To experience a 7lbs weight loss success story, you want to do the following:

  • Invest in a water bottle (at least 16oz) or a 1-gallon water jug
  • Swipe out loaves of bread for flatbreads, or whole grain wraps (I made this switch prior to the detox)
  • Replace sugary/salty snacks with unsalted nuts (almonds, cashews, peanuts) and fruits
  • Strive for at least 20-30mins of exercise 2 days out of the week
  • Be mindful of your portion sizes, do not starve yourself, but be conscious of what you are putting into your body
  • Don’t be too hard on yourself, and stay off the scale at least until week two of the detox

Do I Have to Go to the Gym?

I enjoy going to the gym but refuse to spend money on a membership, but if you are someone who needs an extra push, then, by all means, go for it. There are countless at-home workouts that you can try before heading to work without breaking the bank on monthly fees. With this detox I only worked out for about forty-five minutes to an hour twice a week, without the detox I was only working out every other week or so.

I highly encourage physical exercise while on a cleanse. Before doing research, I assumed that I could just take a supplement or drink some tea and my body would miraculously be in shape. You have to put in the work to seek results and with the Applied Nutrition Acai Berry + Fat Burn 14 day Cleanse I went from weighing 171lbs to 163lbs in a matter of weeks.

Disclaimer: Because the detoxification process requires a lot of energy, fasting with water or juice for more then a week has been shown to be both ineffective and even dangerous if not done properly. In fact, prolonged fasting may weaken muscles and other organs, eliminating the essential nutrients required for healthy detoxification rather than toxins. I do not fast and I do not recommend fasting without the proper information on how to do so. I simply followed the directions on the labeling and changed the foods that I was eating in order to attain an almost 10 lbs loss. Listen to your body and get healthy before getting up in age.
